Project Overview: Cardno ChemRisk was contacted to assist in the assessment of toxicological and exposure data as part of efforts to re-register antimicrobial agents with EPA as antimicrobial pesticides (i.e., disinfectants).

Our Approach: As part of this project, we conducted several distinct tasks including: 1) conducted systematic reviews of published data to characterize the critical effects and exposure-response relationships associated with exposures to selected antimicrobial agents, 2) developed exposure assessment strategies for healthcare and food processing facilities, and 3) prepared critiques of the EPA risk assessments for the selected antimicrobial agents.

Our Value: We were able to help our client by critically reviewing the evidence on the selected antimicrobial agents, prepare scientific assessments of workers’ potential exposures in various settings, and provide guidance on complex risk assessment issues.
