Dr. Gary Marsh receives the Technical Award from the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers

Dr. Gary Marsh, Senior Science Advisor with Cardno ChemRisk, recently received the Technical Award from the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers.

The award is presented annually to a nominee who has made substantial scientific contributions to the synthetic rubber industry.

Dr. Marsh was nominated for his work on chloroprene epidemiology at the University of Pittsburgh.

There, in the 2000s, he directed an international historical cohort study of 18,000 industrial workers exposed to chloroprene, vinyl chloride and other substances, and he is currently conducting an update of the original study.

“Gary has led a significant U.S. project for a client and continues to grow his reputation as a chloroprene expert,” said Cardno ChemRisk Chief Financial Officer Mark Garavaglia. “This honor is a great recognition of his growing scientific contributions.”

The International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers is an international not-for-profit trade association whose members conduct scientific research on the health effects of workers in the synthetic rubber industry.
