AIHce 2018 Awards and Scholarships

We are excited to announce that some of our very own scientists Ms. Julie Panko, Mr. Scott Dotson, Mr. William Cyrs and Mr. Michael Ierardi were recognized at the American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exposition (AIHce) 2018:
· Julie Panko became an AIHA Fellow this year.
o “The Fellow designation was established to recognize members who are full members in good standing, have 15 years of continuous membership, and have made recognized contributions to industrial hygiene or related disciplines, either through research, leadership, publications, education, or service to AIHA” (AIHA, 2018).

· Scott Dotson received the 2018 ABIH Impact Award.
o “The ABIH Impact Award celebrates those ABIH Diplomates who have made major contributions resulting in a significant positive impact to the practice of occupational and environmental hygiene” (ABIH, 2017).
· William Cyrs accepted the Shining Star award on behalf of the Student’s and Early Career Professionals Committee.
o The Shining Star award is presented to AIHA volunteer groups for “demonstrating exemplary commitment to service, innovation, and collaboration” (AIHA, 2018).
· Michael Ierardi received the Dr. Morton Lippmann Scholarship (AIHF scholarship) to attend AIHce 2018.
o “The American Industrial Hygiene Foundation (AIHF) is a charitable organization that operates exclusively for educational, scientific, literary, and research purposes. Its mission is to advance the profession by awarding scholarships for students in industrial hygiene and related disciplines” (AIHA, 2018).
