With predicted revenues of 3 trillion over the next three years and millions of manufacturing jobs associated with nano-enabled products, the implications for technological advancements that benefit society are immense. However, along with these advancements is a growing uncertainty about the potential impacts on human health and the environment. Given their novel combination of size, structure and physical/chemical properties, engineered nanomaterials present unique challenges as we seek to understand their potential risk.
The Cardno ChemRisk Center for Nanotechnology is a global consulting partner that specializes in assessing and mitigating the potential human health and environmental risks of nanomaterials and nano-enabled products throughout their life cycle. We use state-of-the-art methods to assess complex consumer product, occupational and environmental exposure scenarios.
Our risk assessment leadership extends across industries – from a range of consumer products (toys, textiles, food, personal and household care products) to manufacturing (automotive, energy, electronics, chemical and petrochemical), as well as biomedical and healthcare applications.
